Gentera Innovation Lab: A Workspace Revolution by Juan Carlos Baumgartner

Revolutionizing Workspace Design: A Blend of Aesthetics, Flexibility, and Human-Centric Approach

Designed by Juan Carlos Baumgartner, the Gentera Innovation Lab is a workspace that redefines corporate interior design. The project, inspired by the human element and the roots and values of Gentera, offers a unique blend of aesthetics, flexibility, and a human-centric approach to workspace design.

The Gentera Innovation Lab stands out for its unique properties. The workspace is designed to encourage and promote mobility and flexibility, offering a variety of work environments for internal employees. From open spaces to private rooms of varying dimensions, the design caters to different needs and functions. The furniture supports the concept of mobility and flexibility, as most of it can be moved, adapted, and accommodated as needed. This adaptability extends to the space itself, which can accommodate large groups for talks, events, and networking among all the users.

The design realization technology used in the project is noteworthy. The space features touches that identify the architecture with Mexico. The concept of the floors is a subtle interpretation of the woven fabrics, and the carpet was designed inspired by these patterns. This 27,677 sqm physical design is a testament to modernity, competitive space, and a productive & efficient environment.

The project started in November 2015 in Insurgentes Sur 1458, Col. Actipan. Deleg. Benito Juarez, Mexico City, and was completed in June 2016. The design team included spAce as the architectural design team, Juan Carlos Baumgartner as the creative director, Alejandro Danel Cendoya as the designer, and Angel Trujillo for 3D Virtual Reality.

The Gentera Innovation Lab is more than just a workspace. It acts as a different space where new forms of work are applied, and its users change their form of work to create new projects and solutions that apply in their daily activities. The space is radically different from the rest of the offices of Gentera, reflecting its clients and employees and maintaining the roots and values of Gentera.

The design has been recognized for its innovation and creativity. It was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. The Silver A' Design Award is rewarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
